'Book' Lover!

As a kid, I tool great care of my books. Even in school, I make sure that the spine is not completely flat out. So, when I flip through the pages, I can only probably see 85% of the page. Maybe that's why I didn't score all the As! Damn! On some good years, you'll wonder if I even use my textbook at all.... I hate dog-ears. I try not to write in my books and I never, never highlight any sentences, unless its a second-hand book.

This morning, I was reading a book in the train, a book that I have been trying to read for 3 months. Hee... As the train approached my stop, I fished out my little plastic bag to house my book, so I can keep it nicely in my bag. Ok, ok.... I just want to make sure that it doesnt rough it out in my bag, you know what I mean? And just when I was making sure that my book gets the best care, the lady across my seat was doing the same!... She placed her book inside a plastic bag and kept them in her bag too!.... Hehheh... I am not alone....

The only difference is, I forgot to mention that my book actually comes wrapped in a plastic cover already. Yeeks, you might say!

Local Delights

Ms Chung

Good choice with the pink sweater, Cai! Made you stand out on the papers, with a certain glow.

Since we are such long-time friends, and since I helped scan you this article, can you reserve one room for me when you head any of the integrated resorts? Many thanks in advance!

Tagline for the year: "My dream will remain so without your support! ... He has been amazing!"..... Nick, our hero!

Mi Goreng

The best
mi goreng ever!

Strangely, first ate them in Melbourne, and never tried another brand since. Don't buy the fackos. Buy this from IndoMie, only the originals.

My latest batch..... courtesy from my boss, all the way from Sydney!
Nice ah....... You know what to do, when you are next in Aus, right?

Office Read

Guess what we read in the confine of a fairly homely cubicle at the back of the office? No one has claim ownership to the magazine yet, after 4 weeks. Maybe, its a subtle hint that everyone has to read the magazine?......... I think I better buy my own!

Life After AC

Dear everyone

I am happy to announce that..... there's life after AC! I mean air-conditioning.... hehheh... as I have personally experienced sleeping in a room without AC for the last few weeks. No, I didnt die of heat, in fact, I needed to use a light blanket in the middle of the night, when my body gets acustomed to the breezy artificial wind.

Alright, I know I sound like a spoilt kid, but its really hot here in SIN..... ok, ok, I better stop whining. But contrary to popular belief, I can survive in a non-ac room..... that's my only point for writing so much.

Time to lie down - turn up my alarm - switch on the tv timer - slip on the light blanket - take a glance at the pile of crumpled clothes awaiting a little press and chanting, 'I'll do the ironing tomorrow' - slap some mositurising cream - and seriously stop talking......

Make-Over of a Market

Hey! Check out the new established Tiong Bahru Market!
# 2 new levels
# Superly broad walkways that kids can cycle around in their tricycle
# Escalators & Lifts!
# Spacious and breezy - no more sweating

Also, no more nostalgic-crowded-before-zouk dinner place......... can't decide if I like the new make-over or not........

Walking with Beads

As beads of perspiration start to form on my nose this morning as I walked towards the office.... a sudden sense of Melboune swept past me. Thinking of the times when I used to walk 20 mins to school with no sight of any bead at all....... Why so hot ah?

Goodbye My Lover

James Blunt

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?

'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,

Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.

So I took what's mine by eternal right.

Took your soul out into the night.

It may be over but it won't stop there,

I am here for you if you'd only care.

You touched my heart you touched my soul.

You changed my life and all my goals.

And love is blind and that I knew when,

My heart was blinded by you.

I've kissed your lips and held your head.

Shared your dreams and shared your bed.

I know you well, I know your smell.

I've been addicted to you.

Goodbye my lover.

Goodbye my friend.

You have been the one.

You have been the one for me.

I am a dreamer but when I wake,

You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.

And as you move on, remember me,

Remember us and all we used to be

I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.

I've watched you sleeping for a while.

I'd be the father of your child.

I'd spend a lifetime with you.

I know your fears and you know mine.

We've had our doubts but now we're fine,

And I love you, I swear that's true.

I cannot live without you.

Goodbye my lover.

Goodbye my friend.

You have been the one.

You have been the one for me.

And I still hold your hand in mine.

In mine when I'm asleep.

And I will bear my soul in time,

When I'm kneeling at your feet.

Goodbye my lover.

Goodbye my friend.

You have been the one.

You have been the one for me.

I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.

I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

Collection of the Past

If you have been to my place before, you will know the amount of junk that my family owns. And I always wondered if we are ever going to make it for a paint job, with so much stuff lying around. Ok, we are in for 'the test' next week. We are re-painting the apartment!

Many, many boxes are already lying around in the living room, and I have yet to start with my room. But at least I cleared my shoes..... throwing away one full bag of them.... sigh. And, and.... I found these.............

Mambo shoes

Yes, these are mine. Quite popular when 'YMCA' was still hip! Hmmm, its supposed to be dark brownish. The white patches are just , erm... mold. Yes, mold. Have not wore it for many many years mah. As I look yearningly at this pair of shoes....... why did I thrash it???!! Its quite lovely, isnt it? Arrgghhh.......... Should have taken a picture of the others too before thrashing them away - a little collection of my past.

Am I....?

To answer your question awn, Jesse and Celine?..... I decided to 'tap' on your contents and reveal my answers here. I know you are going to name me sneaky, but that's the best part about 'hyperlinking' right?.... hehheh....

To begin, I made a list of what I think I am like, or who I am:
  • I like to think that something good will come my way. Although worry spells do creep around sometimes.
  • I enjoy life. I enjoy the experiences that life gives me.
  • I am lucky because I can enjoy life.
  • I am a dreamer. My drifting thoughts sometimes ruin my attention span. Ooops!
  • I dream of the day when..........
  • Special moments are hard to come by. I will rather take the chance and enjoy that 5 seconds, than not having them at all!
  • 24 hours is insufficient, I like to try and experience as much as I can. Of course, with calculated risk.
  • If I don't sniff around, I may never find out if I can accept, like or enjoy anything at all. To prick is to feel pain. To love is to feel love.
  • I believe that at the end of it all, we will all find a safe, comfortable zone.
  • Every achievement or heartfelt experience begins with a dream.
  • No venture, no gain. Lame but true.
  • Ok, I am really sleepy now.
So, am I a Jesse or a Celine?

CBD, Sweat, and HRC

21 September 2004, Singapore - The day started pretty late for me as the cheapo me was waiting for the ERP hours to be over before driving to work. And the more cheapo me decided to park at Robertson Walk (at $3 per entry!*) and risked walking under the sun, all the way to Boat Quay, where I am now working. Sure enough.... I was soaked! ... And not only that, I arrived later than my other boss, whom I was meeting for the first time. His first remark was, "Oh, you are sweating..." This is no way in making a first impression, sigh.

8 hours later, and a phone call from my dad, "wo men dao liao.....", I scrambled out of the office, making my way first to Robertson Walk, then to the airport. Hmmm.... I think I shan't make them wait any longer, I better take a cab to Robertson Walk. Hehheh..... I didn't have to SWEAT again, perfect excuse!

The ride to the airport was pleasant, except for a few stares from a few drivers. Eh, try balancing your feet on the accelerator at 80, all the way to Changi. The muscle control is quite a feat.

Think my parents had quite a good trip in Beijing, judging from their jovial mood. Or perhaps they were just glad to be home. I was pleased too...... coz I received quite a few presents!

1. 1 X HRC shot glass
2. 1 X HRC t-shirt, medium size (I swear I told them I didn't want a HRC t-shirt, and a man's medium! How big can I get?????)
3. 1 X Perfume from DFS
4. 1 X low-sugared gum

Song for the night: Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here (and JD won???!!!)
