Simply Writing

still not getting any....

Bought this album 3 weeks ago, and finally gotten down to referring to the lyrics of the songs, in my attempt to appreciate them better. Hmmm.... does anyone ever write any 'postive' songs any more? Just when you thought 'Welcome To My Life' is about 'welcoming' someone to share something wonderful in your life.... no, its about how wretched life is, and so, let me give you a preview. Technically, its still sharing, but just not very positive. No good, no good..... Before I go too far off, need to do some justice to the band. The songs in the ablum are not too bad, listen-able. Your typical alternative and punk band. Just a little harsher than Marron 5.

Do you agree that there seem to be more negative songs than positive ones? My theory is that when people are disturbed, frustrated or down, they tend to fill themselves with many thoughts, which often inspire them to write better. Hence, the tons of negativity.

Some people scream when they are down.
Some people engage in retail therapy.
Some people gorge themselves.
Some people sleep hours.

Some of us just write.

Good Luck, Sharon!

Invited Sharon, who is leaving for Brisbane next week, for dinner. Here are some shots of my brave guest and housemate, who has tried my culinary skills. And, no, they have not been poisoned. Can you tell they are really enjoying the dinner?

Chances Are

By Vonda Shepard and Robert Downey Jr.

Chances are you'll find me
Somewhere on your road tonight
Seems I always end up driving by
Ever since I've known you
It just seems you're on my way
All the rules of logic don't apply

I long to see you in the night
Be with you 'til morning light

I remember clearly how you looked
The night we met
I recall your laughter and your smile
I remember how you made me
Feel so at ease
I remember all your grace, your style

And now you're all I long to see
You've come to mean so much to me

Chances are I'll see you
Somewhere in my dreams tonight
You'll be smiling like the night we met
Chances are I'll hold you and I'll offer
All I have

You're the only one I can't forget
Baby you're the best, I've ever met

And I'll be dreaming of the future
And hoping you'll be by my side
And in the morning I'll be longing
For the night, for the night

Chances are I'll see you
Somewhere in my dreams tonight
You'll be smiling like the night we met
Chances are I'll hold you and I'll offer
All I have

You're the only one I can't forget
Baby you're the best I've ever met

Billion Dollar Baby

After one week of non-gym, decided to go for one of the classes today - Boxing! How hard can it be for someone who has done body combat for 4 years now. Hmmm.... I was so wrong... this afternoon, we had to go through some drills, with running, push-ups, crunches, some boxing movements, and more running. Its almost like what I had to do when I was 13. But I am not 13 now.... mind feels like i can still manage, but the body, definitely feels like.... (I will stop here).

But, no... I will not give up, drawing much insipration from the Million Dollar Baby. I will perserve and be the Billion Dollar Baby! Hehheh..... now, who wants to sign me up for the sequel? The best deal is that you don't have to pay me while I am undergoing training. With Hillary, you need to pay while she trains. Good deal? And I promise you full details of my life.... with lots of plots, twists and turns, and whatever you can imagine. Best deal in town.... better than Ange's documentary!

Billion Dollar

BTW, people around me, with my constant training,..... do not trifle with me. Do not...... hehheh!

Reason To Quit

Tonight on Survival (Aus Time), Janu quitted and laid down her touch voluntarily. Why?

Do we sometimes quit at a job, ambition, lifestyle, activity, anything, coz we have reached the peak? Because we have achieved what we came to achieve? For once, do we quit because of good reasons?

Janu did....well at least, based on the editing team, she did. She quitted because she believed that she has gotten what she wanted, out of the game. Pete Sampras and Steffi Graf too, I think.

Quit only for the good reasons.

Snooping Drill

Just completed some school stuff and taking a break, sipping home-made-plungered kopi, with cappucinno biscuits (double-coated tim tams still my favourite!) . Decided to snoop around at what others in the other parts of the world are doing.....

Subject One: endless encounters of yummy food and nice places to visit, you put my boring life to shame. Plus, your new house is magnificient! Quick, give me your address!

Subject Two: just celebrated your big 30, with many karkeys around, except me. Cant believe I missed your big day, but I promise to fly home, regardless of where I am, to attend your wedding.

Subject Three: thanks for sharing your first-hand-holding experience with 'ahem', which I am sure some will draw inspiration from. Also, a true romantic!.... to remember the date! Well done! I am afraid I have rough hands... sigh. BTW, when your kids are a little older, I won't mind sharing with them my non-catholic rules of life....hehheh...

Subject Four: you are still upset by I-dun-know-what. Hope you get better!

Subject Five: the parting words delivered in not so perfect english, were perfect! Just in time to rub some vibes over.

Subject Six: you eat such good food that for the first time I feel very sorry for myself, eating mi goreng for lunch. Still dun know what I am eating for dinner. What do you work as ah? My next job must pay me to eat like you! BTW, I have san cha on my table too!

Subject Seven: your one-liners puzzle me, sorry if I am too curious.

Subject Eight: you are so popular that you actually receive 15K spam/day??!! Please accept the spamet crown, the target of all spams. I dun know which spam filter can help you, man. Oh, I just quoted you in my assignment.... you are indeed famous!

Subject Nine: I typed your address randomly and found your blog. Although it says "You must have clicked a wrong button. Get out!".... I read your blogs stubbornly. Your last blog was on 30 Dec 2002, I wish you well.

Subject Ten: you are only 21, but you do have some real stuff going on! Cool graphics!

Ok, I am done snooping.

Me: I am so considerate that I decided not to bore my faithful readers with my sit-at-the-table-finish-assignment life that I have to summarise what others are doing.....sigh... I msut be really bored. Help!

Kind Message

A friend recently told me that what she likes most about me is how nothing seems to be able to get me down and spending time with me always manages to rub off some of the good vibes on to her.

Thank you for your very kind message. It is such messages that get me through the difficult times.

I hope.

Ammes' One Life Notion

With my 30 years of life experiences, I have learned to appreciate the little things in life. Or rather I try to at most times, since I am no angel. One notion I like to carry around with me is to be able to cherish what I have on hands now, and make good use. There are tons of things that can happen tomorrow, in the next hour, or at the next traffic light junction. But I seriously cannot predict them all, and get all worried about them. Born with a rather simplistic-engineered-I-live-for-the-day self, I choose to take them as they come.... but dun get me wrong, I am a great organiser and planner. Maybe I am just all optimistic about the world. Just too much on the plate to eat them all, carbo are my weaknesses.

Oh by the way, about things that can happen in the next hour or at the next traffic light junction, if I ever forget to look you in the eyes, and show my gratitude.....

'Thank you'.

P/S. Somebody, please tell my parents.
